Embrace Your Faith

I don’t know about you, but summer has been in full swing for me. I have had so much on my agenda. Writing a blog post, posting daily scriptures, working on my website and building social media pages, and all things related to this new journey I’m taking. In addition to that, I do normal people things. Like going to work each day and trying to remain present while I’m there. Coming home and spending time with my family, including my furbabies. Working on sunday school lessons for church and so many other things.
Suffice it to say, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed when you have a full plate of activities each day. But I had a conversation with a friend of mine last week and we were discussing how fruitless it is to give in to that feeling. Yes, I have a ton of things to do. Complaining about them won’t get them done any faster. As a matter of fact, it just adds to the woes and worries. I don’t want any of that this summer. So I’m striving to replace those overwhelming thoughts with the positivity the word of God offers.
Although this post may be slightly shorter than my others (remember, my full plate?), I wanted to take a moment to share with you why we need to move fear aside at times and allow faith to work in us. It’s funny that my post seems to have naturally segued onto this topic. I was working on a longer one, that I haven’t had time to sit down and meditate on. So, perhaps you’ll be treated to that next week. But the reality for me, is that fear is irrational. I’m sure that’s your story as well. No matter how well the explanation, sometimes our minds decided to embrace the fear.
But today, I want to take an opposite approach and instead encourage everyone to embrace their faith. When I sit back and read the news or I hear stories about things going on around me or in the lives of others, the despondent state that people live in seems to be a given. I encounter many people that talk about this with their faith walk as well, with the number one issue being answered (or unanswered as the case may be) prayers.
Regardless of what state we find ourselves in right now, we need to trust and believe that a daily conversation is what God desires from us. So those woes and worries and uncertainties are great conversation starters! What else should you do with them except turn them over to God. So again, instead of embracing fear, embrace your faith. Allow God to help you nurture it so that, like that mustard seed, it can spring forth in unimaginable ways.
Stay Sunny!
