Why did thinking before we speak become an under-rated skill? Over the years, I recall meeting many different people. Among them, there was always someone who felt compelled to question my quiet.

This makes me reflect on my comfort zone. When something is comfortable, I’m not troubled by the highs or the lows because it’s familiar. It’s the uncharted waters that become the issue for us. Unpredictability is fear inducing.

...she came to do my check up, she shared that she thought I had really beautiful skin. That skincare regime was working! Except, I hadn’t been doing it for several months. Hence, the flare up. In that moment, I found it funny because it made me realize that regardless if they say that to everyone or not (I don’t know), I was only concerned with my flaws. 

This made me think about how people find themselves in a similar pair of shoes when it comes to our faith. We are so sure that our “ask” of God is too big, that we don’t bother asking at all. Or when we do, we give up a little too soon when a wait is involved.

That’s the first step to a clean heart. Dieticians, dermatologists, and other medical professionals will often say that what we put on the inside has an impact on our outside. The same goes for our spirit. Take care of what type of spiritual food you're feeding your soul. It makes a difference.

Wisdom is my real world experience. This is how I’m now going to be able to apply my knowledge and understanding.

The more “encounters” we have that challenge our faith, the more confident we become each time we overcome.
