The moment we stop praying, we create space for the enemy. Again, it was like a lightbulb went off. I know this, in theory. Yet it was still something I occasionally fell victim to.

Our spiritual self needs sustenance as well. If I truly want a cup that is not only full of what God supplies, but is overflowing, then I need to trust him to purge me of the things that don’t belong. There needs to be room to receive a full cup in order to experience the overflow that I don’t have room to receive.

One bad apple spoils the bunch. The early bird catches the worm. All that glitters is not gold. You’ve probably heard some of those or dozens of others. These sayings help teach us a moral lesson, some which have proven to be too true more than once over the years.

...staying down was never an option. It was always about returning to the activity.

The reason I retell this is because it continues, to this day, to be a perfect example and reminder for me about the importance of my mindset.

Scary things happen in the dark. To escape, light is needed...

We get easily distracted, we're discombobulated, and everything else.

There are times in life when we can become so consumed by the problem that it monopolizes our full attention.

Distractions. Notice how I said they seem to come only when I want to put my sole focus and attention on something.

When we relax our guard, we lose focus and become more susceptible to damage.
