Time for Change

Now that Spring is here, it comes with it pros and cons. Sunny skies, warmer temperatures, blooming flowers, and the return of green trees. It also brings rain and allergies! While I love rain, I’m not a fan of allergy season. Zyrtec and I are going to be well acquainted again this year. I’m sure. I love when Spring rolls around because I find that it is a welcome reminder that if there is anything we can expect from a season, it’s change. Seasons are about change. It's not a matter of if, but when.
I can’t speak for anyone else. For me, a reminder that change is a constant is always welcome. I work in an environment where some people become change averse. It happens because they settle into the comfort of their routine. Once they settle, any motion that rocks the boat of what they consider to be the norm is the enemy. I occasionally think of myself as a creature of habit. However, I’ve learned to embrace change. I won’t say that it’s always welcome when it comes. If it were, there wouldn’t be sayings out there like If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!
Change, like the seasons, shows us that we don’t have to settle for as is. Even if the situation we are currently experiencing seems like it’s desolate, like the dead of winter, it’s a season. That means change is coming. This spring season, let’s all focus on looking to a future of change for the better. When things are going wrong, we often know what that wrong is. We can make a greater effort to remove the obstacles that lead to more obstacles and instead focus on a life with more peace. Make an intentional choice to embrace the change that God has for each of in this season. He desires what is best for us, so we should as well.
